What's with the humming?

Why is it that every time I hop on the El, there always seems to be someone humming to themselves?  I just don't get it!  I would totally feel out of place humming to myself, especially when the train is so quiet.  Anyone else notice this phenomenon?  Please share your stories.

Honestly, is511, what is your problem with humming?

Often times I find myself brimming with song in a public place. The least I can do is sing softly. Sometimes not so softly. Other times, I overflow with flow. I rarely can hold it together.

Revel in the songs that others sing. Embrace the inner tunes of those around you. They too are part of life's symphony.

Geez Michael - i didnt think you had such a strong feeling about humming. Oddly enough, I was in Panera today and there was an employee replacing the iced tea dispenser and HUMMING. It totally took me back to this post. Although I guess now I will at least consider it as a piece of life's symphony.
